At a glance
Three promises that cover 95% of cases:
Bought a ticket by mistake? You've got 48 hours to cancel it and get everything back, including the booking fee. After that, it depends on when the event is and why you're cancelling โ see the scenarios below.
When you get a refund
Match your situation to one of these four boxes:
Event is cancelled or rescheduled > 7 days
Automatic. Money is back on your card within 5 business days โ no action needed from you.
Within 48h of buying, > 7 days before the event
Open your wallet, tap Refund. Everything back including booking fee.
More than 48h after purchase, > 14 days before the event
Face value back, booking fee retained. Most organizers allow this; some don't โ it's shown on the ticket page.
Event rescheduled to a date you can't make
Credit to your Link Up wallet, good for 12 months on any event in the region. Or tap "Cash out" for a card refund.
Less than 14 days before, non-cancellation
Unless the organizer says otherwise. But you can transfer your ticket to a friend for free from your wallet.
You didn't show up
No-shows aren't refundable. Next time, transfer your ticket the day of โ it takes 10 seconds.
How to request one
Three ways, ordered fastest to slowest:
In-app wallet
Tap the ticket โ Refund. Auto-approves if you're inside the window. Takes < 1 minute.
+1 (758) 285โ0900, 24/7. Best for urgent same-day stuff.
Don't go to your bank first. A chargeback costs the organizer EC$80 and bans you from the platform for 12 months โ even if the refund was eligible. Ask us first.
What happens next
Here's the exact sequence once you hit Refund:
Request logged
You get an instant email with a claim number. If it's auto-approved (cooling-off window, cancelled event), skip to T + 24h.
Human review (if needed)
Our support team looks at borderline cases during office hours. You'll hear back with a decision or a question.
Approved & sent to your bank
We release the funds. An email confirms the amount and expected arrival date.
Money back on your card
Depends on your bank. FAC & RBC are usually 2 days; international cards up to 10. Still missing after 10 business days? Email us and we'll trace it.
Transfers & resales
Can't go? Transfer before you refund. It's faster, free, and the organizer still gets paid.
- Transfer: From your wallet, tap the ticket โ Transfer โ enter your friend's phone or email. They get a new ticket, yours is voided. No fee.
- Resale: Up to face value, allowed on events flagged "Resale OK" by the organizer. Link Up handles the payment so you're not meeting strangers in a parking lot.
- Above face value: Not allowed. Tickets flagged as scalped are cancelled at the door โ the buyer gets a full refund from the scalper.
If the event is cancelled
You don't have to do anything. When an organizer cancels, or fails to run the event as advertised:
- We freeze the organizer's payout within 1 hour.
- All ticket holders get an email within 24 hours with their refund status.
- Money is sent back to the original payment method within 5 business days.
- Booking fee is refunded too โ because you didn't get what you paid for.
Hurricane, government lockdown, artist medical emergency โ these are "force majeure." You still get a full refund. The organizer isn't penalized, but you're not out of pocket.
For organizers
You set the refund policy on your event within these platform-wide rules:
Chargebacks & disputes
If you disagree with a refund decision, here's the escalation:
- Reply to the refund decision email โ a support lead reviews within 24 hours.
- Still unresolved? Email disputes@linkup.lc. An independent team member not involved in the original decision takes a second look.
- If we still can't agree, you can refer the matter to the Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards or file a chargeback with your bank.
We publish our refund numbers in our annual Trust Report. In 2025, 98.4% of refunds were approved within 48 hours and 0.06% ended in a chargeback.
